Twelve young guitarists from around the world compete for a $12,000 cash
prize during a festival that celebrates the tradition and evolution of classical
guitar. The Third International Maurizio Biasini Guitar Competition and Festival
showcases SFCM's acclaimed guitar faculty, the Conservatory Guitar Ensemble
and New Music Ensemble, a Festival Orchestra of Conservatory students and
a world premiere by the multifaceted composer Clarice Assad.
